Climbing Elbrus (the eastern peak 5621m) from the east along Achkeryakol lava flow *.

Program:

1 day.

1 day.

We meet participants at the airport Mineralnye Vody (near the fountain at 14:00), then at the railway station we meet those who arrived by train (14:30), and transfer to the village of Terskol. Settling in the camping in a tent, get acquainted. In the evening we have a meeting where we will tell you in details about the ascent and answer all your questions;

2 day.

2 day.

The first day of acclimatization. We move to the village of Elbrus, from here we rise along the valley of the Irik River to 2700 m. Throughout the day, in a clear weather, part of our high-altitude section of the route, the lava flow and the Eastern peak, and the mountains of the Main Caucasian Range will open. We stop in the clearing near the stream, we break camp 2. Here we will have the first night on the route;

3 day.

3 day.

We remove the camp and move further along the picturesque gorge of the river Irikchat, admiring the stunning views, we take a photo for memory. We approach the pass of Irikchat and set camp 3 at an altitude of 3200. The second night we will stay here;

4 day.

4 day.

Getting up, having breakfast, gathering. On this day we climb the Irikchat pass (1B, 3667 m) from which you can see majestic views of the northern slopes of Elbrus, the massive ice rivers of the Djikaugekez plateau and the mystical Kalitsky peak. Further we move along the ridge through the Red Bugor and stop under the glacier in the stands near the lake. We set Camp 4 at 3700m, we will have snow and ice practice, where you will be taught how to walk in crampon, climb out from an ice crack and work in a group to pull out a failed comrade. Overnight stay;

5 day.

5 day.

On this day we cross the glacier and go out to Achkeryakol lava flow, a huge ridge caused by the current of lava from the lateral crater of the eastern dome. We are moving along the stream until we stop to have a sleep at 4300m. We establish the assault camp. From here you can see beautiful views of the gorges and mountains of the Central Caucasus;

6 day.

6 day.

Acclimatization output to the mark of 4700-5000, moving along the snow-ice slope, then along the rock ridge. Here we will have training of self-deterrence with the help of an ice ax in the event of a breakdown. We are looking close to the giant crater of the lateral crater and the top of the Main Caucasian Range. We spend some time at the finish mark of the acclimatization day and go down to the assault camp for overnight stay;

7 day.

7 day.

Early getting up at 3 o’clock in the morning. We begin the decisive assault on the Eastern peak of Elbrus. The average time of ascent is 12-14 hours. Along the way we pass the site of yesterday, we leave on the pre-peak plateau passing the rocks of Freshfield, and here it is, our goal is the long-awaited peak with a tripod. We admire the stunning panorama from the Black to the Caspian seas, take pictures for memory and begin the descent to the camp;

8 day.

8 day.

We leave the zone of ice and snow and continue descending along the path to the "green zone" up to 3000-3200. Here we will have overnight stay;

9 day.

9 day.

The final stage of the descent to the village of Elbrus. Transfer to Terskol. Arrangement in a camping, rest and walks in the surroundings of Terskol. At will, you can walk to the glade of Narzan, as well as to the souvenir market;

10 day.

10 day.

Day of departure. We are going to, say goodbye to the mountains, with our new friends. The planned arrival to the airport of Mineralnye Vody by 12-00, then we move to the railway station.
